Sharing A slice of Happiness

A humanitarian is someone who actively engages in promoting human welfare and social
reforms, and who has no prejudice with human suffering on grounds of gender, sexual
orientation, religious or national divisions. A humanitarian's goal is to save lives, relieve
suffering, and maintain human dignity.
Serving mankind is one of the important mottos of JCI. Therefore, it is an integral part of events
that strengthen the bond between the JCI and community. Charity is one of the important parts of
humanitarian act. Thus, JCI MANOHARA organized an event called support an orphanage
campaign.
Objectives of Humanitarian Act:
1. To uplift the underprivileged and vulnerable groups in the society by sharing basic
materials for livelihood.
2. To promote the motto JCI that service to humanity is the best work of life.
3. To encourage mankind the importance of sharing among those who have less than what
we have.
4. To support the needy for making their life easier.
5. To strengthen the bond between the JCI and community through benevolent works.

The first program under humanitarian act titled “support an Orphanage campaign was organized
on Friday, January 26th, 2019 at Our Child Protection Foundation Nepal, Dhapasi -8, Tokha
Municipality, Kathmandu. Our Child Protection Foundation Nepal is an orphanage giving shelter
and education to eighteen 18 orphan children aged three to sixteen. The motive of the support an
orphanage campaign was to support the orphanage with food, groceries, stationary items, sports
items, bathroom cleaning equipment and financial aid with an aim to encourage the benevolent
work done by the foundation. The program was organized under the chairmanship of President
JC Rajani Thapa, JCI MANOHARA. The coordinator of the program was JC Dinesh Aryal. The
number of participants was 54 including the BOD and members of JCI MANOHARA.
