Foodstuffs Distribution Program on International Labour Day

On the auspicious occasion of International Labour Day, JCI Surunga organized a commendable initiative titled "Foodstuffs Distribution Program to the Labourers" at the Jaycees Secretariat in Kanakai-3 on May 1, 2024. Time being from 8am to 9am, the event, chaired by JC Durga Prasad Pathak, President of JCI Surunga, aimed to alleviate hunger and support financially struggling labourers in the community.

Program Highlights:

Program Coordinator: JC Pusparaj Dhakal, Executive Vice President, JCI Surunga

Area of Opportunity: Community

Targeted People: Mr. Padam Karki and Mrs. Jamuna Ramtel, two financially struggling labourers of Kanakai Municipality.

Targeted SDG: SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)

Items Distributed: The targeted individuals received a sack of rice, kilograms of pulses, oil, and other basic food items intended to sustain them for a month.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including:

Chief Guest: Mr. Dhan Bahadur Bogati, President, Nepal Independent Connection and Construction Workers Union

Guest: Mr. Bablu Ali, Tiles and Marble Contractor

The program commenced with the collaborative singing of the national anthem, symbolizing unity and solidarity. JC Mallika Chapagain, a dedicated member, recited the JCI Creed, emphasizing the organization's commitment to community welfare.

JC Pusparaj Dhakal, the Program Coordinator, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, shedding light on the significance of the event and the importance of supporting labourers in need. He highlighted the targeted Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 (Zero Hunger) and the organization's dedication to achieving it.Chief Advisor to the President, JC Kumar Mani Pokhrel, extended his best wishes, acknowledging the impactful efforts of JCI Surunga in serving the community. The program was efficiently hosted by JC Rishav Singh Chahar, Secretary General, who ensured the smooth flow of the event.

In his closing remarks, President JC Durga Prasad expressed gratitude to all participants and attendees, delivering the vote of thanks and officially adjourning the program.

A total of 25 participants, including members and guests, actively contributed to the success of the event, reaffirming JCI Surunga's commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.
