In celebration of World Environment Day, Surunga Jaycees orchestrated a commendable plantation program, reinforcing their commitment to environmental conservation. The event, held in Kankai Municipality Ward No. 3, marked a significant step towards a greener, cleaner Surunga.
Under the guiding theme of "Green City, Clean City Surunga," the program saw the diligent efforts of Surunga Jaycees as they planted over 80 Dhupi plants. This annual tradition underscores the organization's unwavering dedication to fostering a sustainable future.
The program that was conducted from 7:30am till 9:30am ,witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Khyam Oli, Chairman of Kankai Community Forest Committee, as the chief guest, lent credence to the importance of collaborative action in environmental preservation.
Leading the program was Environment Coordinator, JC Ramesh Ghimire, who delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, illuminating the significance of the event and inspiring all present to embrace their roles as stewards of the environment.
Secretary JC Nirmala Khadka recited the JCI Creed, encapsulating the core values of the organization, while President JC Durga Prasad Pathak chaired the proceedings, steering the event with grace and purpose.In a symbolic gesture, the chief guest inaugurated the program by planting a tree, symbolizing the collective resolve towards sustainable development.The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 18 individuals, including members of the community, underscoring the widespread support for environmental initiatives in Surunga.
