Banepa-8, Kavrepalanchowk – On August 26, 2024, JCI Kavre, along with JCI Kavre Lady and Banepa Junior Jaycees, organized a Free Drinking Water Distribution initiative for devotees attending the Kanya Puja in Banepa-8. The event, which started at 10:30 a.m., was aimed at providing clean and safe drinking water to over 1,400 people participating in the religious ceremony.
The volunteers ensured that the large gathering of devotees had easy access to clean water throughout the day. The event was held in the spirit of community service, focusing on a basic yet crucial need: access to safe drinking water, especially during a time of high foot traffic and physical exertion.
The organizers of the event, JCI Kavre, JCI Kavre Lady, and Banepa Junior Jaycees, worked together to mobilize resources and volunteers to manage the distribution points. “Our primary goal is to ensure that everyone has access to clean and safe drinking water,” said Jc Rikesh Sainju, President of JCI Kavre. “We are proud to serve the community and contribute to the well-being of all those attending the puja."
In addition to the water distribution, the event underscored the values of community involvement and collective action, which JCI Kavre champions. “By investing our time and resources into this initiative, we’re able to connect with and support our community, making sure that simple needs are met during important cultural events,” said Jc Sworup Shakya, Secretary General of JCI Kavre.
This initiative not only provided immediate relief to the attendees but also highlighted the importance of community support for public health, especially in areas where large gatherings occur. The event was deemed a success, as it helped foster unity and care within the community.
With this effort, JCI Kavre continues its commitment to social responsibility and ensuring the well-being of people in the region. The positive response from the attendees reflects the impact of such initiatives, with many grateful for the much-needed service.
As the event concluded, volunteers and community members alike expressed their satisfaction with the event's success and the lasting impact it made on the devotees who attended the puja.
